My Full Story
Growing up, I attended a Catholic school, and I can still remember how deeply I was moved by the prayers of my Baptist and preacher’s‑kid friends. Their prayers felt personal, intimate, like they were talking to Someone they truly knew. I didn’t hear prayers like that in the church my family had attended for generations, but something in me recognized the beauty of what I was hearing. I wanted that closeness. I wanted to know God for myself.
That desire set me on a journey of seeking Him. I went from church to church, singing with a Methodist choir, joining small groups, and visiting different congregations, all in hopes of finding more of the God my heart longed for.
Everything changed in 2008. While on a temporary work assignment in Decatur, Alabama, a minister walked me through the Scriptures over the phone from my hotel room. It was simple, clear, and rooted in the Word. Soon after, I was baptized into Christ and I haven’t been the same since. That moment marked the beginning of a deeper walk with the Lord, one shaped by Scripture, prayer, and the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit.
Years later, in 2022, I wrote Holy Spirit, He Speaks: A 40‑Day Bible Study Journal®. But the journey began long before that. Several years earlier, I created a simple Bible study template for myself, printed 365 pages, added a monogrammed cover, and had it spiral‑bound at a local copy shop. I even printed smaller versions for a few women at my church.
I didn’t study every day the way I hoped, but I spent more time in the Word than ever before, and that template became a tool God used to grow me. Through it, I began hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit in ways I never imagined.
That experience, the seeking, the studying, the hearing, became the foundation for the journal and eventually for this ministry.
Today, I serve as the Founder of Breath and Grace, LLC, a women’s ministry dedicated to helping women strengthen their relationship with the Lord through prayer, Bible study, and obedience to the Holy Spirit. I live in Huntsville, Alabama, where I enjoy creating memories with my family and quilting in my free time.
I hold degrees from Alabama State University and Troy University, and I earned my Doctorate in Health Administration from Morehouse School of Medicine. But more than anything, I am a woman who has been transformed by the grace of God and continues to be shaped by His Spirit.
Breath and Grace exists because I know what it feels like to long for more of God and to finally find Him in a personal, intimate way. My heart is to walk alongside women who desire the same: deeper intimacy with the Lord, clarity in their spiritual walk, and the confidence to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
If you’re here, I believe the Lord led you.
And I’m honored to walk this journey with you.
